Kim Ferguson

Kim Ferguson

Kim is the owner and founder of Kim’s Pharmacy, is a Haywood County native and Jonathan Creek resident with long roots in the area. We have been able to trace our roots back to County Tyrone, Ireland. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy in 1990 and worked for the next 18 years at various pharmacies across Western North Carolina, including Revco in Canton and Hazelwood and Village Pharmacy before opening my own in 2008. I was drawn to pharmacy by my uncle who owned a Medicine Shoppe in Pensacola,Florida. It was either this or veterinarian and I knew I wouldn’t be able to stand seeing animals in pain so pharmacy it was.

I married my high school sweetheart, Jimmy, and my hobbies include travel, photography and gardening.

Little known fact: I did a shark dive in South Africa.

Dakota Allen

Dakota Allen

My name is Dakota Allen and I was born and raised in Macon County. I grew up in Franklin, NC where I attended Franklin High School. From there I went on to Western Carolina University in pursuit of my bachelor’s degree in biology. After seeing a number of my own family members and friends enter the healthcare field and how they were able to make an impact into people’s everyday lives I decided to enter the field of pharmacy. Upon graduation from WCU I went on to pursue my doctorate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while attending their satellite campus in Asheville. Right after graduation I started my career at Kmart pharmacy in Waynesville before progressing on to Kim’s Pharmacy. In my free time I love to be doing something outdoors and it’s very likely you can find me on the creek or the lake.
